EXIT team went a step further in connecting the region after it announced its arrival to the Jahorina Olympic mountain and the start of its fifth festival! The newcomer to this big festival family was symbolically named Festival 84, and it will take place for the first time between March 15 to 18 next year at a number of locations in the Jahorina Olympic Center. On this occasion, on Friday, December 15, the first tickets will be available.

After the EXIT Summer of Love 2017, the biggest festival undertaking in the region, featuring Sea Dance at Jaz, Revolution in Timisoara, Sea Star in Umag and, of course, the central EXIT festival in Novi Sad, the new EXIT Freedom project for 2018 will be even greater, featuring the new, fifth member  – Festival 84!

Asked how the festival got its name, Dušan Kovačević, the founder of EXIT, answered in his own way: “In Exit, we are big fans of Adams’ ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy’ and there the meaning of Life, Universe and Everything was claimed to be number 42! Given that here in the Balkans we like to do everything at least twice as good as the rest of the world, it was only logical that we go ahead with number 84!” and then he adds: “And it’s also possible that the name has something to do with the most significant undertaking in this area, the Olympic Games held in 1984. The Olympic ideas of peace and tolerance, through gathering and connecting the region are weaved into the very foundation of Exit’s social mission. Festival 84 is located at the very heart of the region, both geographically and symbolically, and with its name it will remind us all of what we are capable of when we unite our strengths.”

The first confirmed performers will soon be announced for the new festival organized by the EXIT team, created using the 2+2 formula which worked extremely well at the Sea Star Festival in Umag. The first day will, therefore, have a warm-up party, and in the following two days the festival will be at full capacity, both during the day at the ski run and during the evening in a prefabricated building at the courts in front of Bistrica Hotel, as well as the other indoor locations, both in Bistrica and other venues.

The last day will be reserved for the closing party. It is expected that the festival will position Jahorina among the most significant winter centers in Europe, and, judging by how it started, this will be the best season in the past ten years, since Jahorina already has over half a meter of snow and the ski run was open ten days before the planned date, which hasn’t happened since 2005.
